    Your Model A

Like so many others I was lucky enough to grow up with Model As. From doodle bugs to field cars is how I learned to drive. Keeping them going taught me my trade (some bad habits but mostly good enough to make a living). Now I'm retired and I enjoy being the custodian of my 130A DeLuxe Delivery...

    Quick-Polly

I used a product called MarineTex on an old wooden boat I had with great results. Wood was severely rotted and this stuff soaked in nicely and set up hard. Kind of like Bondo on steroids.

    My Fleet Is Growing

My "new" ear!y 9N Ford Ferguson from the Henry/Harry handshake fame. Not a Model A but I think it pairs well with my 130A. 70 plus's years old and still a workhorse.

I get parts from Steiner for my Ford 9n. Nice old tractor parts vendor. I also get a kick out of "Wrenching With Rachael" on YouTube.

    6v generater vs 6v alternator

I spun the bearing on the brush end of my generator so I installed a Nurex 6V positive ground, one wire alternator until I repaired / rebuilt my generator. That was 3 years ago. I agree that there is nothing wrong with the original set up and I intend to re-install my generator at some point...

    Spare tire location

My 130A DeLuxe Delivery has a side mount because of the rear cargo door. My observation is that the side mount drivers side spare can create problems for folks with arthritis because of the limited door opening. Maybe that is why you would sometimes see old movies of the driver entering the...

    knock at start up

I too have a knock at startup. It happens after week or two of sitting. I have found that if I crank the engine over a few times with the ignition off (pre-lube) I don't hear the knock when I start. I have assumed it is one of the babbit bearings drying out because of a little to much clearance...

    Thermostat Use?

I like to drive my Model A on nice days in New England that can be anywhere from 40* to 90*. My 160* T-stat and Berg HD radiator keeps the engine well within the "operating range" in all conditions so far. I'm very happy with this setup,.............Pete
