I just delt with this issue in a big way. I have a fresh '53 Merc flatty and about 2 hours on it. last week I took it out for a short trip and upon returning i heard what sounded like a belt squeak. Pulled it in the garage and looked & listened. Could not tell which belt was making the noise...

Thanks everyone. I will check out the AACA Forum. I also sent the picture to the AACA Museum to see what they come up with. Looks like the consensus is at least a Buick. Thanks!

A friend of mine would like to identify this vehicle (Make, Model and Year). She is trying to determine if the child in the photo is her father, but needs to know what year the car is. Thanks!

my pan is about 8.5' deep. And that is about 2" too deep so i will need a car pan to make things right. Thanks everyone.

Thanks everyone. Looks like the consensus is I have a big truck pan or possibly military etc??? That answers my question. I'm going to use the other pan that appears to be not as deep. Thanks!

Guys, is this oil pan for a Big Truck or a regular 3/4 ton pick up? I am asking because I my engine builder is telling me the clearance between the oil pick up tube and the pan is about 2". He feels the rule of thumb is more like 3/4". He says he can modify the pick up tube to make it work...

Thanks for the input. I thought it was a 40 but someone told me the 40 had the filler on the driver side? Probably doesn't change anything I was just curious. Here is another view, yes the cab is chopped. I took out 3.5" to build a hot rod with my daughter.

Right, sorry about that. This is a shot of the cab but I have already filled the filler hole as the new tank will be mounted in the bed.

Guys, I have a Ford truck cab and I was told it's a 40, but I read somewhere that if the gas filler is on the passenger side it's NOT a 40! So mine is on the passenger side and now I am wondering what year it really is? Thanks!

And another

Sorry about the additional posts but for whatever reason I can NOT upload multiple pic from an iPad. So I will be listing several in separate posts.

For sale - I believe these are 30-31 Model A? They were going to be used for a hot rod project but just did not look right. I sand blasted em and then had em powder coated satin black. Replaced the bolts and nuts with correct stainless. Both blunting brackets were rusted beyond repair so I cut...

Another pic

For sale - flathead fan blade with narrow pulley and mounting bracket. Turns very smoothly. $25.00 plus the ride. ITEM SOLD. SOLD. SOLD

For sale - muffler I removed from my 35 Ford. I am not sure how old it is but it's in very good condition. I'm sure it will work on many other applications. New ones sell from Macs for $290.00 plus shipping. I'm letting this one go for $150.00 plus the ride. ITEM SOLD. SOLD. SOLD

Great find big job! I found one a few years ago and it turned out to be perfect as well. Mine was a 53 Mercury all original. It's being built at this time. Good luck with yours.

Any idea about the operation I mentioned? I mean could this thing actually turn on only when it reached a certain temp?

I was wondering if anyone could identify this fan bracket. I was told it is somewhat unique in that it would turn on only after the temp increases and not immediately. I guess the idea is to allow for a faster heat up of engine in cold weather? Thanks!

Ok thanks!
