    Fan Belt replacement

I have a generator, not an alternator. I did just install a new 2 bladed aluminum fan from Synders which is supposed to be a copy of the original except thats its aluminum. Possibly my crank pulley is not original. Someone added a metal pointer and a mark on the crank pulley which I assume is...

need to replace 7 tooth steering box.

Prior to buying my first 'A' several months ago my mechanical experience was mostly changing fluids and grease gun. Years ago changing points, condenser, timing. My Dad was a machinist but I am not. I like "bolt in" options.

I'm replacing the fan belt on my '29 A. The old one had lots of cracks. I loosened the generator, Its pushed up against the engine block. I have the new belt over the fan pulley and crank pulley. Thermostat

If I put in a section of lower hose into the upper hose to hold the thermostat in place can it be a short section or should it be the length of the upper hose? There must be a fairly strong force of water going through. Some people say drill a couple of small house in the thermostat so that...

    5 Speed Conversion

I agree with you Gene. Tomorrow I'm putting in a new Brassworks heavy duty radiator. A leak less water pump. An aluminum fan to replace my original. After that turn signals. My 7 tooth steering box has a lot of slop so I'm thinking about a Mel Gross steering column.

    5 Speed Conversion

That is one clean car! Beautiful job! When I bought my A it already had the T5 installed. It shifts like butter! The only issue I have right now is the speedo doesn't work. I took the speedo out and tested it and it is good. So the cable which runs a very convoluted path to the differential is...

Can i store an engine without coolant?

Ok. What damage can you anticipate storing an engine “dry”?

Can i store an engine without coolant?

I'm going to be putting a new radiator, water pump, fan, etc on my A this weekend. Due to some family obligations I may not finish this weekend. Is it ok if I have my engine without coolant for possibly a week or two? Concerned about rust.

    hood removal

I did what MCHinson and Bruce recommended. Knowing my coordination is not what it used to be I removed the front bumper first. 2 bolts and thats off. It all went smoothly.
