    64 Fairlane driver's door

Hi all! I am in need of a complete driver's door for a 64 Fairlane hardtop (no post). I mostly need the interior guts for a 63, 64, or 65, but a complete door for a 64 (or 63) would be great. George Warren, 757-334-0841 Thanks!

    1939-48 flathead rod bearings.

Just tore down (after MUCH work!) a "59" flathead. Its been a long time since I messed with flatheads, but all the 39-48 V8s I had, had full floating rod bearings; this one has inserts, like the 49-53s I had. When did Ford switch to inserts for the rods? Back in the day, the local racers...

Help on lubricating Southwind Heater motor

I have had sucess dismantling throw away power window motors by gringing the rivets out and lubing the bearings with white grease. I drilled smal holes in the side of the case, held the brushes back with fishing line, reassembled the case, added new rivets, and cut and pulled the fishing line...

    Rear LED 3rd Brake light....problem

I connected the LED third brake light to the brake light switch, works fine. LED lights dont't draw enough amps to activate a regular flasher; a special LED flasher must be used if you want to have turn signals. With the correct flasher, simply splice the appropriate wire to each turn signal...

    are hoods interchangable

Did the same thing many years ago, (hammer welded)and the hood matched the 51 grille perfectly; maybe the car in the picture was the result of shrinkage from the welding (or maybe I just remember it wrong, after all, this was 50+ years ago!)

    Crescent Wrench?? (At Jiffy Lube)

My kid is 30, went to Lincoln Tech, was youngest ASE Master autotech in VA at one time; he most definately was taught about carbs! He also is not the least bit afraid of FI, can make up his own system out of various auto makers parts. How many of us (non professionals) can do that?

    40/41 pickup wipers?

On my 40 pickup, I used a marine universal electric self parking wiper assembly on the drivers side (very easy to adapt, using a stock outer shaft bezel), and drilled a hole on the pasenger side, and mounted the stock vacuum wiper there, no problems with the glove box. Good luck!
