    Another overdrive problem

Here is my last chapter on the overdrive problem. After following the good advice offered here, this is what I did. After a lot of testing on the bench, I found the the relay was working to click in. However it would only send 3.4 volts to the solenoid. I found out that by energizing the relay...

    Another overdrive problem

Isn't the kick down switch between the relay and the gov? I thought by grounding the terminal on the relay was the same as the gov reaching speed. Would this then bypass the kick down switch?

    spar plug to air adapter

I took an old spark plug, drilled the porcelain out with a diamond drill bit. Then welded a 1/4" coupler on what was left of the plug. I then screwed a hose into the coupler and hooked air to it. Changed all 16 springs and seals in about 4 hours. Now to set the valves and see what happens...

    1955 ford 272

Thanks for the responses. I have the correct dist and carb for the car. I have determined with a timing light that there is advance when opening the throttle. I have new points, condenser, dist cap and new carbon wires. I am winding it up to accelerate and no, I don't know how valve float feels...

    1955 ford 272

Ever since I rebuilt my car in 1990. When I wind up the engine prior to shifting from first to second or from second to third, I get a backfire and really no power. Once I hit highway speed and back out of the throttle, it runs great. I have done all the tune up many times and changed the cam...

    Upgrade to dual master cly

This is a drum / drum manual brake system. And I am going to stay with all drum brakes. I will check out CASCO, because if I don't do something like that, the battery heat shield will be a problem.

    Upgrade to dual master cly

I am going to use a master cyl from a 67 mustang to put on my 55 t-bird. Does anyone know of 90 degree fittings that will screw into the master cyl and then accept standard inverted flare 3/16" brake line nuts?

    1955 ford 272

I read some on this forum about a member having a shifting problem with his three speed overdrive. As I remember something happened in the overdrive an he had no reverse. I have a problem with my three speed overdrive jumping out of second when decelerating. I have done the usual, new second...
