Thanks everyone for the insight! now I know more.

Hi everyone, I have the stock 1936 distributor on my engine and a spare rebuilt 37 to 41 distributor in my parts stash. They look the same (save for the bakelite cover color). will the later type distributor fit and work on my stock 1936 engine? anyone‘s input on this topic would be greatly...

Thanks everyone for the feedback! rockfla: I actually have a spare condenser and putting it in the car is a great idea. Thank you for that suggestion

Hi everyone, I‘ve been lurking for a while now and did not have much to say. However I would like to report that I managed to get my ignition fixed. The problem was that the car would stall when really hot. Personal experience as well as an extensive search on the Ford Barn hinted that either...

Hello Guys just in time for spring I got my car back from the workshop. They worked on the ignition and the carburator, it now idles fine and most notably no longer overheats. I drove it home yesterday and I couldn’t be happier! cheers, Alex

Hi Guys, thanks for the friendly comments, stories and hints. Also to those who go through the trouble of reposting my pictures for better viewing. the posting „issue“ is simple. I don’t use a computer to read and post in the forum. I use an app called „tapatalk“ on my phone and post directly...

Hi guys, took advantage of the nice weather and took the 36 for a spin. Found a nice spot for some pictures, hope you like them. I’m sorry but I still haven’t figured out how to post large pictures properly. willing to learn though

Thank you all for the friendly comments. as for posting pictures, I use tapatalk on my phone and post straight from my phone album. I should probably log on through a computer and see what is actually happening.

all is good then, it seems I was preaching to the choir.

Wow!! nice car. congratulations my two cents: do not use Linseed oil for the chassis. It will stay tacky, dirt and humidity will stick to it and accelerate corrosion. Use Owatrol. It penetrates rust, hardens and creates a closed surface. No further corrosion. You should find it on amazon.de

Thank you all again for the compliments and valuable information!! I found out I already have an IR thermometer gun and will check temps on the next drive.
