Thanks, the number is AB 30 and it has a 2 in there too, which I don't understand. I think its a April 30th, 1952 motor based on your website (which by the way, thank you for sharing).

Greetings, I have a flat head in my 31 project (just bought it) and I don't understand the date coding on a flathead motor. Can anyone help me out and let me know which motor I have (3.9?) and what year it is? I think its a 1952 but there seems to be an additional number (2) on the stamp. Thanks
