    28/ 29 Coupe fenders

In need of a GOOD set of fenders for my grandmas Special coupe. I really need rear coupe fenders, but would buy a full set if they're in great shape. Preferably in CA, or surrounding states. I'm just south of Fresno, I don't mind driving to get them, but would rather not have to pay for...

Went to grandmas house, came home with a 28 Special coupe!

Thanks so much everyone, I really appreciate it. Bill, sadly I sold the Plymouth... I had a guy offer me a cash deal I couldn't refuse at the time, and almost immediately regretted selling it. I bought a 30 coupe runner (Barely!) that was restored probably in the early 80's, did the "gow...

Went to grandmas house, came home with a 28 Special coupe!

Re: Wheels Oh yeah, it's staying a trunk car. Grandma wasn't sure, but I guided her decision not to change it! Thanks, we are going to go with the original wheels and I'll hang onto the 16's for a RPU project I have been building in my head... :D I have a toolbox and rack in my garage with...

Here are some of the latest photos. Gosh there was a TON of bondo all over that top. Before blasting, then while getting etch primed. Skin patches being done by my buddies at Boling Brothers Early Iron in Tulare CA, I will be doing the floor panels and top wood... Hopefully the wood "kit" is of...

Boy it's been awhile since I've been on this site. But the coupe is coming along nicely. Since it came to me I have had two back surgeries, the last one being a spinal fusion only weeks ago. Progress is slow, but It's getting there.... Let me see if I can dig up a current photo or two!

My A misses at cruising speed... Any ideas?

I've been hearing a lot about this recently. Would it be better to buy a round distributor cap when I order a replacement? It would seem the fault is in the design of the standard winged caps. The car is a driver, so looks aren't as regarded as functionality. Wow, that's a nightmare!! I do...

My A misses at cruising speed... Any ideas?

Haha, yeah you're right! A lot has been falling behind recently. The money needed to fund my addiction hasn't been good. I'll do a legit "tune up" and see if it still misses. Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.

My A misses at cruising speed... Any ideas?

I will try the .035 on the plugs. Never thought about the rotor to cap gap. That may be a good start. My cap is old and crappy looking, I was planning on replacing it anyway. That could be a very good possibility. When I regapped the points they were WAYYYY off. The wear block on the point is...

My A misses at cruising speed... Any ideas?

Just as the title says, I am experiencing a miss at cruising speed. Not anything I can really feel, but I can hear it. Car starts and idles perfectly, no other issues whatsoever. I have tried messing with the GAV, but there's no change. It has been getting worse the past few months then my el...

A bad day with the "A"'s

When I first got my coupe I was taught to give it half hand throttle while starting.... well, that floods the crap out of it but at the time I didn't know it. I flooded it BAD at the local corner store and had to pull the plugs, dry them off etc.... Of course my "fancy" car attracted onlookers...

A bad day with the "A"'s

Ahhh, yes. We all have those days I'm sure. Sorry to hear about the gas pump endeavor. But at least you got it going. You know what they say, even a bad day in a Model A is..... eh, you know! Here's to better days!

Anyone familiar with a glass cone shaped markerlight/turn signal.

Don't worry too much about your memory Art....... Ehhh, what was I going to say??!:) I think I may have a few more of these laying around but they are not matched. I remember picking these up for a project awhile back and thought I could use them as turn signal housings but obviously...

    1930 Coupe Aprons?

I would suggest removing the body mounts on one side and LOOSENING the other side. Push the body up and slide the apron out. Then put that sides bolts in loosely, and repeat for the other side. I say this because you don't want the body sliding off and becoming mis aligned.

    1930 Coupe Aprons?

Yes, body bolts must come out, and IIRC, there are a few bolts on the front fender along with having to remove the front splash apron between the frame horns.

Here are the ones I have. Sorry, I forgot to get pictures yesterday.... DUH! :D These have glass lenses, and metal housings. The lens is held in place by a snap ring. Not sure if these are what you're talking about or not but if you have a use for them shoot me a PM and we'll talk.
