Wire wheels were first offered by Ford during 1925 on the new 1926 models. They were welded spoke wire wheels similar to Model A Ford. The wheels in your picture are aftermarket and probably later than 1911.

Two connections in action here. First the domed nut on top holds the steering wheel spider fast to the steering gear pinion ( short shaft with gear on it). Loose nut may let the spider rock on the shaft if they are not a tight fit. Second the steering gear pinion continues on as a plain shaft...

It is the Type A, first of 3 basic designs. Type B has 2 intake ports in the side of the head and 8 exhaust ports on the top( one for each exhaust valve). Type C featured 4 intake ports on the side of the head and 4 exhaust ports on the other side.

Just something to keep in mind...My Dad in his 70s gave up the Model T because he could not push the pedals hard enough or long enough. He went to a Model A until the clutch and brakes became too much.

Wood felloe wheels were made with 2 pieces of wood for the felloes, each piece steam bent around 180 degrees. If one of your felloes is made in 3 pieces it has probably been repaired and the third piece spliced in. You should carefully inspect such a wheel as it is most likely not safe to use.

It is the taper that is important as that holds tight to the hub to prevent wear, or should. If the keyway is bad, so probably is the taper, time to junk the axle shaft as another is cheaper and better than any repair. Check also the wheel hub, it may be bad too.

"Ford didn't offer any factory accessories for the Model T." True on this era but later windshield wipers, rear view mirrors and dash lights were offered by the factory. Then in 1926 came snubbers, stop lights and more.

21" rims came out for the 1925 model year. That model year started around August of 1924. It is possible that your car came originally with 21" rims. Even if it did not, 21" tires in addition to the softer ride offer better braking and handling due to more rubber on the road. Longer tire life...
