Take the new gauge to a plumbing supply place like HD and see if u can find a bushing you can modify to fit ID and OD. Seems like someone made aluminum "rings" as and adapter years ago. The HAMB is probably a better place to ask this question.

The stuff that looks like sand is typically what I see in small motor carbs where Ethanol based fuel was drained and winterized or properly additive used. WTF is YMMV?

I believe the front door window mechanism would have have 8 mounting bolts on a "Late" 35.
