    Does this Babbitt look ok?

There were no shims installed on the mains so removing material from the caps will loosen up and possibly require a shim. Old school repair to keep it going without the expense of new babbitt and line boring.

    Leather main bearing

Was done all the time by "Reputable" used car salesmen. Sawdust in the transmission's and rear ends also was a common trick to "Get it out the door for a buck". Did any of these last long? No. But there were no warranty's for most used cars either and they were not in business very long in the...

    Most Difficult Restoration Tasks

Worst for me was the complete rebuild and adjusting the brakes. With no knowledge of a mechanical brake system it was scary from the point, if I mess something up it will never stop. Now. piece of chocolate cake with ice cream. Still alot of tedious work but pays dividends.

    I am leaving Fordbarn

As for ads, we leave them up because I value old ads. It lets you go back and see what things were/are selling for. I agree with you Ryan and it is the same way on the H.A.M.B. You can go back in time and see what a car or part costed maybe 5 years ago and compare.

I would not be using the original wiring harness that you have pictured. try disconnecting the wires from the coil. Making up some new ones to hotwire the car. When you get it running this way then rewire the entire car properly.

    Windshield Wiper Conversion

Why not replace it with the electric wiper that it was born with? My '29 Briggs has one and it works all the time unlike a vacuum motor where when you mash the accelerator it robs vacuum.

    Ad Scams

First time poster, only send money a unheard of way, recently joined. Report them and let the boss deal with them. AFAIK they can only ban them from the site but they can return under a different name if they think they can steal some money. No better than a thief that breaks into your garage or...

Getting paint inside boxed in areas?

I started a thread over on the H.A.M.B on this subject and the powder coaters that responded did not think that all areas would be protected. Pinch weld areas would be the most unprotected along with completely enclosed areas. The E-Coat and Epoxy primer look to be the best option. Considering...
