I just pulled the carb and removed the old power valve. The new one is completely different, much longer and the design is different. Is this a upgrade to the power valve or is it the wrong part?

The power valve would make sense. That was the only part that I couldn't replace. The one that came with the rebuild kit didn't fit, wrong size threads. I cleaned up the old one, but I bet it's bad.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I had just rebuilt my carburetor because 1941 Merc flathead. It was bogging down when I accelerated. The jets were clogged up so I cleaned everything up and rebuilt it. Ran great for about 20 minutes. It started to get a very loud whistling...

I'm getting ready to change out my water pumps on my 41. Any secrets or tips I should know of before I start due to the motor mounts being on the pumps? Thanks!!!!

Thanks guys, I will double check to make sure there's no air leaks. I didn't get a cork gasket for the lid and it's dried out. So I will need to make one or find it online somewhere. Maybe that's the issue. I did purchase a AirTech EFP just in case. Thanks again.

Yes, once I put fuel in the carb, she fires right up. I will check the rubber fuel line.
