I have Hagerty insurance on my 1931 Model A Slant Town Sedan and 1956 Fairlane Town Sedan. The one time I needed Roadside Assistance was when my Model A broke the left rear axle shaft and I needed a flatbed to get the car home. Called Hagerty and they immediately arranged for the flatbed and...

Thank you Dave for your response. I will double check all the vacuum line connections to make sure they are correct and also try to clean the actuating valve on the washer mechanism. I intend to get the vacuum wipers and washer operating as designed and keep them on the car. Thank you again for...

Long time Model A Ford owner and just bought a 1956 Fairlane Town Sedan. It has 292 4-bbl and air cooled Ford-O-Matic transmission. It also has original vacuum wipers with optional windshield washer. Windshield washer will squirt water when pedal depressed but will not activate the windshield...

Jeff and Alex, the car looks great! Alex will be driving it to school in no time!

I had a similar problem that was greatly improved by tightening the pittman arm on the sector shaft (it took some muscle) and setting the correct toe-in. My 1931 Town Sedan now steers very nicely with only a tiny bit of free play but no wandering.

I obtained a new engine from Schwalm's Babbitted Bearings in Strasburg, PA and I am very happy. Ora Landis does an outstanding job with Model A engines!

The carb I bought from Berts was perfect. No leaks, no stalling when stopping, just great performance all around. Highly recommend.

I used a U-haul car carrier to bring home my 31 Slant Town Sedan years ago towed by my F-150. No problems with the wheel tie downs. The trailer I rented also had a couple of chains which I used on the axles after placing a piece of scrap carpeting on each axle to protect the paint. Worked great...

I just installed a new HD radiator from Bratton's (#11620 for my 31 Slant Town Sedan) and have no complaints. It fits perfectly. I also installed at the same time a Vintage Precision thermostat housing with a 160 degree thermostat and it works great. Very happy with my new parts and the engine...

I use a 50/50 mix of Sierra anti-freeze and distilled water.

I replaced the gooseneck above the water pump with one that has a boss for a temperature sensor and it works very well. Routed the line through the junction box to the gauge mounted just below the speedometer. Very pleased with the installation.

Same thing happened to me two weeks ago. Left axle shaft broke about two inches beyond the axle key, just under the bearing. With the help of several friends from my Model A club, and a rear spring spreader, we had the axle shaft replaced in a couple of hours.

I participate. Many in my club do, too. Pretty good value for $1.00!

Re: Engine Loses Power on Hills I had a similar problem. It was timing. On my 31 Slant Town Sedan, the steering column bolt at the steering box had broken allowing the steering column to turn in it's seat on the steering box due to vibration while driving. This changed the geometry of the spark...

The Sta-Lube drum brake grease is what I use on my rear wheel bearings on my 1931 slant Town Sedan.

Looks like a Varco. I bought a Varco trunk for my 31 Slant Town Sedan several years ago and it has been holding up very well without a cover. Here is the link to their website: http://www.varcoinc.com/

I love my Mitchell overdrive. I like using 3rd gear overdrive for cruising and 2nd overdrive for climbing the Appalachian Mountains along the Old National Road in western Maryland.

I have the new reflectors on my 1931 160B and they are great! The focusing screw really works well with them. I am using regular 6V double filament 32/32 bulbs and can now finally see decently while driving at night. I highly recommend the new reflectors!

Sounds like you are really enjoying the Model A hobby! I sure do, too. I normally drive my 31 Town Sedan about 5,000 miles a year and take a couple of long distance tours with folks from my Model A club. I won't drive it, though, when there is salt on the road but, other than that, I like to...

I bought some #223 E70 O-rings from the O-Ring Store online. Cost is $.18 each. Costs more to ship! One O-ring works perfectly in my thermoquail.
