Diff oil ends upp in gearbox?

Hey Lars As Mart mentioned I have had the same issue with my truck since I bought it. You are doing well at 700km I could drain around 1 litre of fluid from the trans to put back in the rear end after about 100km! It came fitted with a Tardel baffle that obviously didn't work for me so my next...

    21 stud hot rod motor?

I love mine in my 32 truck. 33/34 motor. 80 thou over with flat tops. isky 77b cam. Meyer heads and inlet. duel 97's. crab dizzy and speedway econo headers. Runs well on the street, good for 17.4 sec quarters at the drags and 87mph at Pendine. Been driven to Belgium and back as well as being...

    Twin plug Heads

There is. Pete took a couple of stock front covers, cut them about, then welded them up to make the twin dizzy's work. Once the HAMB is back up and running I will post a link to the tech feature he posted.

    Twin plug Heads

Pete (Nutrocker on the HAMB) has recently fabricated a twin plug conversion for his motor. I have had the pleasure of sharing the driving duties at a few hill climb events in the car and can tell you it goes really well on what is a pretty much a stock French flathead. Even if the second set of...

    England calling

Are you based in the UK? If so get in touch with Jim at Royal Kustoms http://www.royalkustoms.co.uk/ He is a flathead expert but operates an all round build/fabrication shop that helped prepare a 40 Ford for the peking to paris last year.

    Flathead question

I'm no expert so can only go off my personal experience but when I swapped to a set of repro Eddie Meyer heads and matching inlet on my early 21 stud I immediately knocked one and a half seconds from my previous best E.T. in the quarter. Ran consistent 20.5 secs @72mph to start with then ran...

    Pump in head water pumps

I see that the likes of Mac's, Snyder's and Dennis Carpenter are now offering reproduction early pump in head water pumps with modern sealed bearings etc. Anyone had any experience of using them? Are they all supplying them from the same source? Thanks for any advice Gavin

Tops speed for late 30s trucks?

Ok. Here is what my truck will do. 32 pick up 33 pump in head motor 0.80' over with Eddie Meyer heads and inlet. Around 7:1 CR. Stock 33 trans 33 rear end with 4.11 gears and 7.50 tyres. 'comfortable' freeway speed = 55-60mph. Any more feels like I'm over working the motor. 1/4 mile in full...

    V8 Flathead Ford Tattoos

I could be asking for trouble here but what the hey :) Here is my latest of my pick up. It is flathead powered although you can't see it in this. It's only half done, need to do the bed area of the truck and then the dry lakes background.

Flathead Ford head studs- a couple questions

I used bolts when I fitted the Meyer heads to my 21 stud. I broke 4 studs off each side getting them out and decided I wouldn't go through that pain again:( I certainly noticed a difference in the threads. The original studs did have a more rolled edge at the tops of the threads compared to...

HOT early 21 stud Anyone have one?

Definitely worth doing Mike. There is nothing wrong with the diver's helmet type but the crab is easy to install with the adaptors that are available, they are easy to set up and the parts are a bit cheaper. It did seem to improve how the motor ran although on inspection my old dizzy was pretty...

HOT early 21 stud Anyone have one?

I share your passion! I love my little 21 stud. Not exactly hot, more slightly warm :) Had it on the road for 3 years now, seen plenty of road miles along with regular trips up the drag strip. Been 100% reliable apart from a perished fuel pump diaphragm a couple of years back. Not sure of the...

    "Death wobble

I would double check that the brackets will fit the 32 axle first but for me personally they look a touch overkill and also not a very pretty thing to have clamped around the axle. You don't actually have to attach anything to the axle, you can mount the one end to the tie rod with a simple tie...

    "Death wobble

Not sure about the axle clamps but it should fit. Save yourself some money though and buy a VW unit from any decent motor factors or ebay and make up a simple bracket to mount it. They are exactly the same as that Snyders part and also the So-Cal ones but only cost around £15-£20.

    eddey meyer heads

I bought mine from Don last year, heads were $1025 and the inlet was $825. Not cheap I admit but they are beautiful items plus they work. I was running consistent 20.4 second quarters with stock heads and inlet, a change to the Meyer equipment dropped that down to a 19.1 with no other changes...

    eddey meyer heads

I have a set of Don's heads and matching inlet on my early 21 stud. Can't recommend his parts, or the man himself, highly enough.
