Thanks for the came back. I'm using a stainles steel tank from Tanks Inc. The weld seam is about 1/4" from the edge. Not enough room to trim before I hit the weld. I thought I might rise the tank with an additional rubber pad but I don't know if the extra height will interfere with the body...

Has anyone installed a Tanks Inc 11 gallon fuel tank in a Pete and Jakes chassis? I am in the process of doing it and the rear lip of the tank is resting on top of the bolts that hold the leaf spring to the chassis. Is this the right way ro install the tank?
