    Cluster Gear Identification

I am building a 1939 Ford transmission and bought a gear set from a friend. However, when I started to look at the cluster gear end I noticed it was different than the typical 28-24-18-14 gear set. Has anyone seen a cluster gear like this and where do I find a thrust washer for it...

    Disassemble Tudor Body

I am in the process of restoring a 1929 Ford Model A Tudor and I am working on repairing the body. It is very rusty with some original paint on it. I have started the exterior stripping of it with a sander and 80 grit sandpaper, which is going along well. However, when I look at the interior I...

    Transmisson Gear Set Interchange

Yeah I decided to pass on them, as the one I needed had a pretty chewed up gear set. If anyone is near Calgary, Alberta, Canada might be a good deal.

    Transmisson Gear Set Interchange

Well I don’t have a shifter yet, so that is not a big deal yet. As for the three transmissions i think there is one I can use, and the others might help offset the costs of the package.

    Transmisson Gear Set Interchange

Well I think I got lucky today and found someone who has three transmissions for 40 bucks. Think that is a hell of a deal too. Looks like one of the transmissions has a Borg Warner R10 overdrive on it.

    Transmisson Gear Set Interchange

So I have started the teardown of the 78-casting, three-speed transmission I acquired and found that at some point in its past it had an earlier ('32-35) gear set installed in it. What gear sets from these later years will interchange with the 78-casting case? I have order the Vanpelt book and...

    Universal Joint Removal

Little heat and she popped right off. For the clutch shaft removal, do you grind off the clutch fork pin and slide the shaft out?

    Universal Joint Removal

I have removed the bolt, but it won't come off. Figured there was something else I was missing.

    Universal Joint Removal

So I just started taking apart my three-speed Ford toploader transmission and I cannot figure out, for the life of me, how to remove the universal joint from the back of the transmission. Can anyone advise me if I am missing something?
