Anyone running 2 Holley 94's on thier flathead?

I ran 2 94's for years with straight linkage only one of which had a power valve. Used what I think was called a "Uni-sync" to set them up. Worked great. Too long ago to remember PV size. Chap

When converting from 6 Volts to 12 volts

Like 19Fordy said. There is a voltage drop you can use for the gauges. You can isolate them and wire them anyway you want. Starter can remain as is. I did snap a couple of bendix springs in mine from the extra zap but I think that may have happened twice in 14 years. Make sure that the small...

    Suspicious forum member

I was selling a truck and the "potential buyer" smelled a bit fishy. I told him that we needed to have the sale notarized and that a gal in the office where my wife worked would do that for us. I then said that she worked at the local Police Station. I never heard back from them. Sad that we...

    Running out of gas

Take your passion and find a young person to share your knowledge with. So many of us old guys just let it fade away with us. This is not my original idea, its called discipleship and I read where some guy named Jesus said it is a great habit to get into. Chap

Installing flathead back in 1950 pickup

What "rotowrench" said. No hood, radiator and floor boards makes it a breeze. Tilt it and lower it into place slowly. Easier with a helper, but it can be done by just one person. Wait to put oil in trans until after it is installed. Enjoy the adventure, Chap

    2 wet “ish” plugs

Re: 2 wet “ish” plugs Run it in the dark as suggested. My "guess" distributor cap. As it warms crack opens enough to cause issue. You have good compression and I assume the oil is not milky. Keep us posted. Chap

    Starter installation

Don't leave that bracket off. Torque of the starter will trash the bendix spring. use zip tie or rubber band to hold it together if you need to. Chap

    Muffler Report

When we were teenage know-it-all wanna be mechanics we would spray water from the garden hose into a hot muffler through the tail pipe to destroy the contents. Cheaper than a new cherry bomb muffler. Just don't rev the car up to blow it out while it is in you dads driveway About an hour for...

    Replacement Radiator

I bought a polished aluminum radiator from championradiators.com for my '52 F-1 and found it to be of great quality and very efficient. for many years. Overheating is not just caused by a radiation inefficiency. Engine timing and tuning is a big factor. Check out their web site. Chap

52 F1 Mystery creak coming from cab

Confession! I had a squeak like that as I was driving down the road. I rolled down my drivers door window and could hear it louder. I replaced cab mounts, oiled every moving part I could think of and took it for a drive. Things seemed quieter until I rolled my drivers door window down about 3/4...

    Radiator Cap Vented?

Good reminder Marshall, Had a Gas Cap vent plug up 30 miles from home and remembered what I had read on a Forum about that possibility. I loosened the cap and watched it jiggle as I drove the rest of the way home. I then drilled a couple of extra vent holes in the interior part of the cap. All...

want to undo lowering of my 1941 deluxe

I remember in 1962 buying 6" drop shackles at the local auto parts store for my "46 Woodie and us teenagers we installed them using a tire iron and a piece of pipe for leverage. Don't know how we survived some of those "master mechanic" adventures. Put the frame on jack stands. Keep us posted...
