#111 and #123 have been built with no extra work other than assembly with no problems. Both have ran on our run-in stand and now are being installed into cars for many miles of driving. Being these are the first two we have built I feel the Burtz engine is a fine product, they do need care and...

I would agree with the other builders who posted, take it out and drive it! I tell all my customers " don't be too rough with a new engine but don't be too kind either. And definitely don't let it idle for long periods of time" Clean or replace the fouled plug (s) first of course.

I would also like to add that Paul was nothing but nice and a genuine good guy with me, we had a good time that day. He was just looking for facts. I don't think picking on him and backing him into a corner will help anything. I believe he intends to make a statement to clear this all up but...

Paul spent hours in my shop and we did exactly what you have suggested. You can't see everything in a one minute video. The first time it was checked was with the "shipping studs" and nothing else, the first thing that happened when they were unloaded at my place was to pull all the caps, clean...

I have a few sets of Edelbrocks on back order and I'm an Offy dealer. The price has gone through the roof on the Offy stuff and I want to have a few of the Edelbrocks on hand when they follow suit. Supposed to get them mid May I'm told, we'll see.

Interesting.

Very nice! My Dad built a Pietenpol back in the 60s (used a Continental A-65) I still have the plans and thought of building one someday. Car engines in aircraft scare me a bit but this would help.

Great thread! That was a fun way to kill some time.

It's the later engine with press in guides. 1950

even got a video of the last one I put together. ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuyPOkCXIT8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTTtCMmyuh0

No worries, not pointing fingers. Just saying it saves trouble in the long run. Just so happens I'm building a six like yours right now, only took two months to get pistons from Egge.

Well I read through this and see that a remedy has been found. I will add that we extract tools that have been broken off all the time although it would be easier to fix if the customer didn't try to do it first. If you have doubt to your ability take it to the shop first it saves trouble and...

Location: Visalia, CA Price: 7500 I've had this car in storage for a while and finally brought it out this weekend, put it together (kinda) so you can see what it's got. I would like to sell it to raise funds for my Model A project. I can only do so much. So here it is! I have a bill of sale...

Neat little welder, no matter if the block is different still would be cool to use.

Did you rebuild the rocker assemblies? a worn shaft will make the rockers hard to adjust because the rocker wont always reat in the same place. Also tip wear can be a problem. Rocker shafts are very critical in these engines and need to be looked into.

I like it, think I might poke around for a while.
