Yes, that sounds better. I was never good at any kind of math.

    First Drive In A Year!

Sorry I can’t find the original thread on this topic. Yesterday we finally got the A started and took it for a brief drive! As you may recall we took the gas tank out and had it cleaned. We started this process in March. There were many obstacles this year, but we tried starting it a couple...

    Gas Tank Removal

How would I know if the spark lever is adjusted properly?

    Gas Tank Removal

In order to turn the cable out a couple turns I have to take the distributor back out, correct?

    Gas Tank Removal

Sorry, I think I started a new post. We got the tank out in March and had it cleaned out. The company that did it did not recommend sealing it. We finally have it back in (life has been busy this year) and now it won’t start. We had the distributor out and maybe I didn’t put it back correctly. I...

    Distributor Installation

I got the distributor back together. Now the car is fighting me as I try to put the distributor back in. The tension in the ignition cable is making it impossible to install the distributor. What’s the trick to this? Also, for some reason the cable is short enough now that the clamp won’t reach...

    Distributor Installation

Well, then I have trouble. I thought I needed to take it all apart for some reason and I’ve since bought new upper and lower plates to get the points to line up. I should have just sold this car before I took this part on…..

    Distributor Installation

Back in the spring we took the tank out of our ‘28 to clean it. At the time the only way we could get the ignition cable out was to remove it from the distributor and the only way I could see to do that was to remove said distributor from the engine. Please don’t tell me there was a simpler way...

    Coil Adjustment

Some of my issues could be driver error. I have heard many ways of doing this. Some have said that I should be able to shift halfway through the intersection. Sone say to wind it up before shifting. I’ve tried both, I believe, but not too successfully. I think I do tend to advance the throttle...

    Coil Adjustment

It could be driver experience or lack thereof. I understand how to drive it well enough, but I could always be missing something. I know to retard the throttle when shifting. I don’t always think to adjust the GAV when driving it. I know how to get it set for when it’s sitting there idling.

    Coil Adjustment

It has the stock timer and it’s nearly new. I keep forgetting to check it, but it’s barely gotten 20 miles on it, too. I have done a compression check, but I can’t find the results. I’ll have to do that again.

    Coil Adjustment

I’ve probably spoken on it before so I don’t want to belabor it, but the car (‘26 Runabout) will idle well and be decent in low, but when shifting to high the whole car will buck and shake. I’m thinking it might be some sort of misfire and I wanted to eliminate the coils.

    Coil Adjustment

My car seems to have many issues and I keep plugging away at it. Always working on it more than driving it, but I suppose that’s ‘T Life’. One thing I need to check on is the coils. I bought rebuilt ones 4 years ago and have put less than 20 miles on them. Surely they are still in good shape...

    Bucking T

I have checked those things before and the timer is new with very little miles on it. I’ll check those again.

    Bucking T

This is an old post and I’m sorry for hashing it over again. I bought my ‘26 Runabout 4 years ago and it has this similar issue. I replaced the coils with newly rebuilt ones from Langs. Since then I still have this issue. I doubt I’ve even put 20 miles on the car. Is it possible that one of the...

    Terminal Box

Either I lost them or they were never there. It’s not like me to not put them back on after taking them off so I don’t lose them. I would imagine that not having both would cause all sorts of issues. They were run up pretty close to the cover as off the original owner put it together minus the two……

    Terminal Box

I wish I’d taken a picture of this before I pulled the wires. I only have one internal nut on each post. Surely there must be 2 on each? Anyone have a picture?

    Terminal Box

I assume that the internal nuts need to be spun out towards the front of the car sone to ensure a good connection?

    Terminal Box

I do have the red book, but it just wasn’t clear to me.

    Terminal Box

How do I make sure the connections are tight? Does the wire just get sandwiched between the internal nut and the exterior nut?
