Just had a thought that if the rubber isn't good in the wish bone ball that mechanical brakes could be affected.
Where else in the system can I look for problems (besides adjustments)?
I want to fix the brake rod guides on a BB truck. It looks like the originalls had vulcanized rubber on them. I'm thinking grommets or even just gooping silicone on them in an artful fashion. Any ideas on this?
None of my trucks have the origianal switches in the column hooked up. I don't have any information on how to work on them. Are they so problematic they aren't worth woking on?
This truck came from a man in his 90s who passed away in NV. Some parts were missing and it hasn't run in a long time. Anybody know any history on it?
Lot's of buyers wanted to buy it for the body to make a street rod. I'm going to keep it on the BB chassis like my others. I love BB's and 51s.
All similar parts seem to have the same # regardless of year or model. For instance all transmission cluster gears are part # 7113 regardless of year or applicaton.
Does BB in front mean ONLY BB trucks?
Does 51 in front mean ONLY Big trucks? 1935 - 1936?
Does anybody have any information on what's available for mechanical vacuum booster brake parts?
Here is a Searle brain valve in the rod to the pedal I saw this weekend at the truck show. It operated a big diaphragm pulling on the brake cross shaft.
My truck has a different one operating a big...
Anybody know if the spline count and axle flange is the same on a 33 BB as the TT truck?
I found this Lincoln 3 speed auxiliary that bolts to the axle where the drive tube bolts:
I was working on the brakes of my '33 BB and was disappointed to find left hand studs on both front drums. I pressed the left hand studs out and pressed out RH studs out of the '34 front axle I had only to find the '34 studs about .005 smaller and won't stay in the drum!
The studs are 1" 3/4...
What is the proper puller for a Ford BB truck rear hubs?
I see a KD-540 that is marked A and AA but I don't know if it would work on the BB that came out a couple of years later.
Here's my dad's 1933 Ford BB same year he was born. It's a tribute to him now and a great truck for me.
283 Chevy, stock everything else. It does have a vacuum brake booster over the mechanical brakes.
Hi Chuck, I can't send you a PM or respond to your add about U joints - I guess because of my low post count so I'll try this.
Do you have anymore of the truck enclosed driveshaft U joints?
Thanks,
