i recently purchased new carb for model a.installed it and it idles fine,when accelerating the carb shoots gas out the back of carb.when adjusting idle screw it doesnt change idle at all.when turning fuel mixture choke rod it doesnt help either.some knowledge would be greatly appreciated.help,sos

im having timing issues,when aligning bump on pulley to needle for top dead center,the number 3 plug is in compression stroke,the number 1 cylinder is no where near compression or exhaust stroke when pulley bump an the needle are lined up.could my timing gear be broke? any ideas please help.
