    Tudor Top Wood

Hey guys! When installing the right and left side header boards, I'm finding that the boards are only about 1-1/2" wide at the header corner bracket. Since these boards are mounted with 2" bolts, the bolts protrude and push the sheet metal away from the board. Any suggestions? Thanks, Brent

    Body work

So, I've gotten the sheet metal including the doors, cowl, hood, etc. fitting pretty well. In general, I believe the sheet metal is in pretty good shape. Part of the car has been painted black lacquer and part of it is in spotty primer and filler...this was done probably 20 years ago. As I pick...

    Hershey Navigation

OK, so last year I was completely overwhelmed and unprepared for the size of the fall meet in Hershey (first one) and spent my time just stumbling through. I understand that things are really scattered, but is there any information that would help me focus only on those booths/vendors dedicated...

    Radiator Splash Shield Fitment

All, In order to get the holes in the front fender to align with the splash shield holes, it seems like the splash shield doesn't fit the inside line of the fender correctly. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Body Alignment?

The hood on this thing is giving me fits, but could it be the body alignment? The hood fits really well on the passenger side. On the driver's side, it wants to overlap the radiator shell in the front leaving a 1" gap at the cowl. I know I can tweak the radiator some, but what's more is that...

    Head gasket? Rings?

Hi all. The A has recently started smoking, pretty badly and worse when I rev the engine. Also seem to be getting a lot of "moisture" out the exhaust. The black streams from around the head gasket are getting worse as well. I don't know a lot about motors, but eager to learn. My first...

    Always Learning

It's amazing how much we can learn from each other just by reading miscellaneous posts. After reading a post from Blockhead called "Sometimes..." I realized that I have this light bar on the shelf. While I haven't starting thinking about the light bar, my plan was to use the cast light bar...

    Door Post Reveal

Ok, I'm confused on the doors of this '30 Tudor. I'm fitting the body, doors, etc. to start thinking about paint, but having trouble with the reveals between the doors and post. My understanding is that I need to get those right first, then shim the body as needed to adjust the door alignment...

    Tower vs ******

I got a partially restored 30 Tudor that appears to have an older transmission (no emergency mounting holes on shifting tower). I do have the original tower. Can I just swap the tower without replacing the entire transmission?

    Dry Fit

I'm looking to dry fit the fenders and other parts on my 1930 Tudor before paint. I have no idea how to mount these to the frame, which bolts to use, etc. Any suggestions on a good source of how-to information? I love the barn! Thanks all!

    Which bolts where?

OK, I picked up this project with lots of parts and lots of hardware. Question is, how do I figure out where all the bolts are used? My son and I have been sizing/sorting bolts, but I don't have anything to tell me which size bolts go where. Any guidance? Thanks!

    Timing n temps

Can someone explain how timing can impact engine temperature? The car hasn't been on the road yet, but it overheated quickly in the garage after running mostly on fast idle. Also seems to be missing a bit and maybe a little backfire through the carb. I'm really new at this... are these symptoms...

    Water Pump Seals

In rebuilding the water pump, any thoughts on keeping with the original lead packing strips or switching to the neoprene seals? Also, since I don't have brazing equipment, but do have end play, thoughts on using a collar to minimize end play? Thanks!

    Which accelerator bracket?

Hi, I have an early 1930 Tudor and I'm trying to figure out which accelerator bracket to use (see photos). Does it matter which one? Any recommendations on restoration of these? Thanks all!

    Generator testing and wiring

I've inherited a 1930 Model A that's been partially restored. I've replaced some of the wiring (including the yellow/black to generator) and got it running, but need to understand the generator to get it charging. I'll likely take it to a local shop for testing/repair, but would to test/fix...
