    Ford blue

This has probably been asked dozens of times but I couldn't find it. Is there a reason for Ford using blue as his trademark? I know why Richard Petty used the blue color that he did but never heard the why's for Henry.

    Timing the Petronx ignition

Many moons ago I put the Pertronix ignition in my A. It seems that maybe I'm not getting enough advance with my spark lever and want to go the initial timing. Anything that I should do or do different with the electronic ignition timing?

    Old registration---Not Model A

My wife was through some old papers of her parents and grandparents and came across this. It's a 1926 registration for a 1924 Ford roadster. Nothing earth shattering but I think it's interesting to see what some saved.

    Ammeter---Original or Repo

I need an ammeter and I'm going to a swap meet in a couple of 1 1/2 weeks. How do I tell an original from a repo and how will I be able to tell if it's working?

Which front leaves to use on a speedster

I'm going to reverse the eyes on the front springs and would like to know which leaves to leave out on my speedster. There are no front fenders, bumper or aprons so the weight has been reduced and I don't feel that need all of the original leaves.

    Jack oil

What is "jack oil"? I needed some and had a small container of it but was wondering if someone ran out what, if anything, could be substituted?

    NOT Model A----the back nine

You know ... time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. Yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them...

    Another gas cap question

The last couple of weeks I took my speedster to the Wed cruise in @ Gilmores. Both times after about 5 minutes of running I'm going about 40-45 and the motor cuts out and slows down to just above an idle and then picks back up and proceeds to do the same thing again. I limped home, not too far...

    Best way to cut sheetmetal

I've got a couple of projects coming up and need to some 18 and/or 20 gauge sheet metal into strips. Some will be 2" wide and some about 4" wide. The lengths will vary from 18" to about 4'. What will be the best way to accomplish this? I have a woodworking band saw. Would getting a metal cutting...

    Sandblast cabinet question

I bought a Harbor Freight ( yes, I know,I know) sandblast cabinet and fired it up today with some Black Blast. The intake tube is clogging and I wonder if there is anything that I can do to prevent this.

    End play adjustment screw

I was told by longtime Model A friend that my end play adjustment screw needed to be tightened up. My question is what tool do you use to adjust this slotted screw and exactly how "tight" should that screw be? A stubby slotted screwdriver does work in those tight quarters.

    Seat belt supplier

I purchased some seat belts for my speedster a couple of years ago and now I need some more. Any recommendations?

Cruising by the Model A Museum.

About 1 mile south of the Gilmore car Museum is Gull Lake. The last 2 days I've noticed a few A's cruising around the lake. It's a nice 13 mile cruise that many people enjoy. Look up Gull Lake Mi. on Bing maps or get a road map to guide your way around the lake.

    Fuel line ferrule

I changed carbs and I loosened the fitting on the fuel sediment bulb ('29). When I tightened it back up it didn't seal. It seems that the ferrule is not the normal ferrule, is that right? If not, can it be sourced locally? Thanks.

    MMO not Model A

There is a recent thread about Marvel Mystery Oil in Model A's and a few references to the detergent qualities of the additive. My question is how would this perform in modern 1990's and newer automobiles with the closer tolerances?

Car stolen @ Henry Ford Museum?

Has anyone heard this? Maybe this is old news. Bummer. Posting here for awareness and future reference: A trip to the Henry Ford museum proved costly for a man visiting from California. According to the Dearborn Police Department, the man's trailered 1930 classic Ford Model A convertible...

Notice that the ears are turned 45 degrees. Thanks for looking and hopefully identifying.

    28 Ford Speedster

1928 Ford Speedster for sale. The car was completed about 4 years ago with numerous new parts. Most speedsters are built with leftover used/junk parts - not so with this car. The engine was rebuilt about 3,500 miles ago per the previous owner. Recently, within the last 500 miles, it's had all...

    Non stock muffler suggestions

I know there a lot of stock Model A'ers that have or have an interest in speedsters. Please don't read any farther if this may offend you. I have a Cherry Bomb muffler on my speedster now and I don't really care for the chop, chop , chop sound and would like something a little more mellow...
