clutchplate just fits the flywheel, or not ??

For my 99 Merc flathead i have a re-surfaced flywheel and new clutch plate. I think the springs in the clutchplate are to high. They are almost touching the four flywheel bolts. Then there is the issue of the edge of the springs just fitting inside the circle where the flywheel bolts are. Maybe...

    Small parts ID please

Found in my pile of flathead parts, cleaned them up but what are they ? Part A screws together with the round grooved steel piece that jigles around when put inside. Part C has a adjustable thread with one end of the thread being concave.( does the thread belong in there ) B,C,D,E, do not fit...

Stolen model A coupe in the drink.

Have,nt seen this here or on the h.a.m.b. Came across a news item by chance. 79 year old owner went to church on Sunday in Prineville FL. Car was stolen by a drifter who was arrested at the scene. I allways use a steeringwheel lock from the wheel to the pedal.

Chassis number experts please .not the location, i know that.

Here,s one for the experts. Looking at what appears to be a 1931 model A Tudor that is for sale locally here in The Netherlands. Pretty neat restoration on a solid car  that was done in the U.S.A. Has the 31 gastank and gauge panel and the 31 grille shell but no 1931 dimple in the firewall...

    1934 Ford Cabriolet, European body.

Came across this for sale on PreWarCar . It,s in Hungary. Have a look at the photo of the engine bay. What would be the purpose of the two adjustable fittings Left & Right side that i have arrowed in green ? Tighten up a sloppy body maybe ??? Or just standard practice as the cowl and screen...

Please ID the purpose of this badge.

Is this tiny little Ford pendant something a Ford salesman would wear in the 1930s ? Exactly 1 inch long. I,m sure it,s genuine late 1920s or early 1930s. You can see where the enamel is chipped off, same sort of damage that you see on old grille shell badges.

    Brake drum ID please.

This has been bugging me for years. I have four drums the same as the red ones in the first pic which are the same as the two on the axle in the second pic. What is the exact year for these drums ? Are they Ford or Mercury ? Note that they are smooth with no ridges or bumps.

Trivia, what,s this recess for on my rear axle ??

I have a decent collection of rear axles but only one with this 1 inch wide groove on the drivers side . Top side is pretty deep and runs to the normal smooth outer curve at the bottom of the axle. Other side is normal smooth curve all the way around. Looks like a recess for a strap. Axle had...
