    Installing engine/****** w/ pedals

I'm getting ready to install my new rebuilt engine with rebuilt transmission attached. I have also assembled the pedals onto the bell housing. Will this be a problem as I swing the combo back into place? Will I have to take the pedals off?

    Steel fan

Many years ago my '30 Tudor threw a fan blade. So, I am sensitive to this subject! I recently bought a nice '30 coupe and I was expecting to need to change my fan to a cast aluminum one, but I see it is apparently cast steel (confirmed with a magnet), not the old stamped/folded version. It...

    '48/49/50 running boards - FREE

I have a pair of running boards from my '48 F-1. They are the desirable early style that goes across to the frame. They are sand blasted and ready for substantial weld repair on the corrugated step areas. I ended up selling the truck and put on fiberglass ones because the welding work wasn't...

    Generator two wires

I'm starting to examine details on a '30 coupe I bought recently. I just noticed that the generator has two wires coming out of the hole where the one connection for the cutout normally is. One is connected to the cutout, the other is grounded to the case. My guess is that the extra wire is for...

    Champion No. 20 Spark Plugs

AA/BB Truck rear drum removal tool question

I believe I have a tool for removing big truck rear brake drums mounted on tapered shafts with keys (same design as cars but different dimensions). It is not the KR Wilson tool design, but rather is the widely-used design that is a semicircular forging that slips over the hub, sliding over/into...

    Counterweighted Crank

OK, I know I'm probably pouring gasoline on a fire, but I'm interested in your collective thoughts. I'm planning to take my engine to Schwalm's for a rebuild later this year. Should I do a counterweighted crank? What are the pro's and con's? Experiences?

    Shock fluid/oil

I just bought a set of rebuilt shocks at a fair price. They do not say "Houdaille" on them and the rebuilder says they are repops from maybe the 70's. Made in Chicago. He says he used 80/90 wt. gear oil as fluid. In principal, that seems to be OK, but I'm interested in your comments! What's the...

    Table of Finishes

Help!! Somewhere recently while perusing one or another of my Model A reference books I came across a very nice table of finishes for all kinds of parts - both painted and I think hardware also. Foolishly I didn't mark it for future reference! And now I need to find it! I've tried looking...
