    Pendine 2024

Took my Burtz block for a little drive to Pendine and take it down the beach. Friend of mine made a great video of the weekend. Unfortunately he had running problems and didn't get to film much of the action. Mine's the last car at the end... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9TW57wOjCc

Bringing a Ford Pilot back home.

Last year I was offered a Ford Pilot. A few snags though. The offeree wasn’t the owner, and he felt I should buy it and sell him the running gear as it was as in a terribly rusty condition. Also, I had no need for another project. Of course I went to have a look. And after a haggle the price...

Valve spring pressure and a Stipe cam

A question on valve spring pressures for a new Stipe B340 cam. History... I have a reground cam in the diamond B in my Fordor, modern valves, new (10 years ago...) stock springs, with pressed in guides. Few other tricks, but it's still pulling at 85mph on the sat nav with no sign of valve...

    Close ratio gears

Popped over to Belcher Engineering here in the UK on the way home to ask about a set of close ratio gears for my Fordor. They manufacture two types of close ratio gears for the Model A gearbox with gears made from EN36 steel, case hardened and run on needle bearings. Straight cut, no synchro...

    My "1927 Mercury" phantom

Apologies for my creation not being quite stock. It's evolved out of parts I've acquired along the way. Long time happening this one. Started this eons ago. I had a stock 1927T Tourer. After failing to sell it around 2005, I bought all the interior, sheetmetal bits and top to get it finished...

Cowl vent/gas tank cover spring details

Has anyone any dimensional details of the flat steel spring catch normally riveted on the inside of the cowl vent/gas cap cover? It's missing from my '27 Tourer. Thanks!
