I need some help on a 1951 F1 PU with a 8BA in it. I believe that tube or cast iron headers will not fit due to interference with the steering box. I believe that Red's is gone and I need a good source for headers and extension to the mufflers. Thanks for the help.

Pete posted the correct diameter for the inner shell of the cam brg driver as 1.795 I need to make one, but I need to know the diameter of the shoulder that "drives' the brg in. If it's too large, I don't want to drive the tool into the brg bore and stick it in the block. Thanks.

Recently there was a discussion about adj tappets (lifters). It has been suggested that it is not wise to use 91A-6500 hollow and slotted non-adj lifters with a performance cam or a stock cam while using a 8BA type valve train. Is this the current thought on this subject?

I can have my A block baked and steel shot blasted by a local machine shop. My understanding is that it will be as clean as it can be. Would it be prudent to melt the babbit out before this is done and is there any chance of damaging the block by this?
