12v system. Voltage across the ceramic ballast resistor to coil is 5.5v. The coil (new) has 1.5 ohm resistance. Crab distr. Is this setup OK? Thanks. Trying to troubleshoot some running problems.

I'm doing this for the first time and do I have to remove the plate with the points on or bend a screwdriver to get those two screws holding the springs on? There is a retaining ring that looks like it can be pried out and then remove the timing screw. Anything else? Thanks.

Has anyone ever used these tapered axle shims? Is it common for the hubs to bottom out on the axle housing before the tapers seats? I'm trying to lap the hubs and axles on a '40 and can't get a total lap between them. Sounds like rubbing between hub and housing. Thanks...

Bought new rear hubs about 4 yrs ago. Just getting to the point where I'll be installing them on my 6 yr old project. I noticed there are no grooves for the retaining rings (c type clip) in either hub. Maybe they decided the clips aren't needed. Any thoughts?

When using the early heads, in this case Edelbrock, on a late engine which head gaskets are used? Early or late? Thanks.
