    1936 Engine Problem

Yesterday was my 92nd birthday and my wife and I decided to celebrate it at our place in the country where I keep my old Fords. We hadn’t been there for a long time due to travel and medical problems. I wanted to drive my ’34 roadster to one of our favorite restaurants for lunch. I got the car...

    Tire Tube Needed

I ran over a roofing nail in my '34 roadster and ruined a good 5.25/5:50 Firestone tire and tube. I got a new tire from Coker Tire, but they only had a heavy-duty tube. I don't want to use this tube because I think it is at least 3 times the weight of the old tube. I have searched on the...

    Pearl Harbor Day

I realize that this is off subject, but I just watched the news on TV and read the NY Times and there is no mention of Pearl Harbor. What am I missing?

    Battery Suggestion

The Optima 6-volt battery in my '37 Ford is located in a disguise case and is at least 15 years old. It died and I would like to replace it with a wet-cell battery. It previously had a taller wet-cell battery, so it has the longer rods required for this. What size/brand battery should I buy? All...

    '34 Tire Dilemma

I picked up a roofing nail which ruined a tire on my ’34 roadster’ so I ordered and received a new tire and tube from Summit Racing (who were prompt in getting them to me). The five old tires are labeled “Firestone Deluxe Champion 5.25/5.50/17” and the new one is labeled “Excelsior...

    Wing-Wing Installation

I bumped into the driver side wind-wing on my '28 roadster and knocked it off. It is undamaged but I'm looking for suggestions on what to use to bond rubber to glass. Thanks, Robert

    Choke Adjustment Needle

The mounting flange on my ’28 roadster’s carburetor broke so I replaced it with a known good one. Now I’m going nuts trying to get the choke adjustment needle working. The red book has not been much help for this. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you, Robert.

    Royce Texas Engine Rebuilder

I have a 1936-LB engine that was rebuilt by a man in Royce, Texas around 1989 or 1990. This engine is in my car, and it still runs great. I can’t remember his name, but I would like to know it for document purposes. If anyone can help me I would appreciate that. Thank You, Robert

    WIX Fuel Filter

I'm trying to put a #33099 WIX filter in the glass bowl in my '28 roadster. The filter has a thin black disc with many small holes in its circumference at the top of it. How is this filter installed into the bowl? Thanks in advance for your help. Robert

    Distributor Cap/Rotor

My ’28 roadster had been running well since I did some tune-up work on it around 10 months ago. Yesterday morning it wouldn’t start. When I tried to get the distributor cap off, the clip on the driver side was stuck/jammed on, but I was able to get the passenger side clip off and the driver side...

    Water in gas

About a year and a half ago I filled the tank in my original, unrestored 1937 Ford Fordor Touring Sedan with Shell Regular. I’m 89 years old and came down with some medical issues shortly after that so I wasn’t able to drive the car until now. Yesterday I got the car started. It ran rough for...

    Timing Problem

I took my ’28 roadster for a short drive last week. It started right up and ran well. The next day I backed it out of the barn and shut it off while 2 passengers got in it. I restarted the engine and It immediately ran rough, missing and stalling like it was way out of time and it was impossible...

    Early 1928 Open Cab Pickup

Good running order. It has been garaged since I bought it at the Pate Swap Meet in June 1991. I don’t believe that this vehicle was ever restored based on its condition when I bought it. It had been repainted black and a repair was made to the area where the right front fender and running board...

Value of Pair of 1927 Texas License Plates

I have a pair of 1927 Texas license plates that I removed from my 1927 Model T when I sold it. I had them restored around 1990. The one that was on the back is in perfect condition and the front has some very minor road damage. I tried google to get an idea for what they are worth but the...

    1937 Distributor Problem

I bought my ’37 fordor about 13 years ago. It had just under 60k miles on it then and just over 63k miles now. It always ran and started well but one day it wouldn’t start. I figured that it was a distributor problem and after I removed the distributor, I found that the tabs on both of the...
