I have a 49 F1 with a 6 cylinder floor shift 3 spd I believe. Have not drove the truck or been able to get enough dirt and grease off to really identify it the trans. I want to put a flathead V8 in the truck. Can I use the transmission with the right bell housing?

Looking at a truck, not sure if it is a 1949 or 1950 F1. Can some one tell me the difference if their is one? Thank you ahead of time!
