After studying it, I think i'll approach it from the front, lift the engine and slide it forward enough for the hogshead to clear the Warford.

It's the front of the Warford transmission that is in the way. I wish it was the tower. The center bolt of the springs appears to bolt to the crossmember of the frame.

I removed the water pump and i'm seeing how things go. It leaked and I tried installing new packing with poor results. The belt slipping off problem is solved. I'll find out if my radiator is in good shape this summer if not before.

I'll check the center alignment of the pulleys. I'm concerned about how close the belt is to the timer.

I noticed a set screw on the water pump pulley. I will try adjusting it and see if it stays on better.

The fan belt on my Runabout keeps slipping off. I've tried tightening and loosening but still slips off. What is causing that?

That's the first I've heard of 55-PSI. I'll do it. I installed the lint screen in the transmission inspection cover. I will try the "Stomp" method of launching. I will practice this using three point turns. I guess I need to think of the controls as a "low speed" pedal and a "high speed" lever.
