    $$$$$

I have rebuilt several flat head engines for under $3,000. I do my own tear down and assemble and pay to have the machine work done. V 12s are a $1000 more because of the extra cylinders and they are Lincolns.

do we have a favorite glue for 34 cowl vent gasket?

That's why Chevys are Chevys. We're taking Fords here and the gasket goes in from the top.

do we have a favorite glue for 34 cowl vent gasket?

I like 3M Black weatherstrip adhesive. If you use the yellow, it may ooze out and be seen and who wants to see yellow. If black toozes out, it will match the weather strip and not be noticeable.

    Ford F1 radiator capacity.

I found the water capacity and didn't have to add a water recovery or adjust the tire pressure or the timing. First off I had to bite the bullet and get a clogged radiator recorded. Then I removed the thermostat s and drilled a 1/8" hole in the rim to let the AIR out of the engine when the...

No Lebaron Bonney, now where do I order?

Ordered Cartouche kit for my 1939 PU. On first try the headliner was 2" short of filling the gap between the header and the headliner. I called, explained my problem and got a new headliner that fit within a few days. I would use Cartouche again if the new owners of Macs haven't " improved"...

    Broken Tap Solution

I would try to use needle nose pliers. Insert the ends into the flutes of the tap and turn in both directions to loosen stuck tap and unscrew. Tap has to be sufficient size for pliers to fit.

Radials on a 37. Yes or No??

About 10 or 15 years ago the was a lot of talk here about using wheels that were designed for radials. Also the suspension was supposed to be"radial tuned" what ever that was. There was talk of the metal around the lugs failing from fatigue because of flexing causing thd wheel to fall off. Is...

    car cover

Outside, the wind will blow dust and dirt up under the cover and it will sit between the cover and the paint and act as sandpaper. Probable the best cover would be no cover other than a carport to keep bird droppings and tree sap off the finish. The best cover might be a portable garage or tint...

    radiator weeping

Just had to have the radiator in my 1950 F1 recored. I checked into new replacement radiators. Aluminium had overflow on wrong side, no provisions for shroud, set up for high pressure, Drain in back instead of front. New Brass works radiator was $800 and had some of the same issues. I bit the...

    Engine block thread clean up

I recall reading that the threads were not tapped to the bottom of the hole. There was a slight lip left somewhat like a pipe thread to help make a water seal on those studs that went into the water jacket. The differential center section was the same way to help make an oil seal at the bottom...

How much brake line does it take to do an old Ford?

Lines rust from the inside out. Copper plate is just for looks and feel good. Get the copper steel alloy tubing to be rust safe.

Dome LIght and Rear View Mirror help....

I don't think that a dome light was available for the commercial vehicles in that era. My '39 never had one and I see no mounting holes or brackets in the body frame work for one. The '39 had holes for an inside mirror, but there is some question as to whether one was ever provided. My mirror...
