IIRC, when Bratton's announced that they were closing, they said they would continue their parts manufacturing. I was only aware of the reflectors that they were making, not the shock absorbers. Maybe I'll disconnect my links over the winter and see if the shocks actual work. I wasn't...

Regarding petrol pumps, by the late 70's in the US, just about all gas stations required you to prepay with cash or credit card before they would enable the pumps. You get refunded the unused money, so no extra cost, but the loss of trust was a change.

IIRC, the clamping pieces for the rubber ball are different from the original type. My car had the rubber ball, but it deteriorated. I was happy to see that the steel ball end was in good shape, so I went back to the stock setup. If it isn't, the ball has to be replaced with this...
