why is the voltage regular in my 1950 f1 getting so hot ? lights and all work ok ...

My '49 F-1 speedo cable only turns in reverse and not in forward gear, the speedo has worked fine for the past year or better....What do I need to look for ??

just finished installing all new brake hardware from master cyl. to wheel cyls. did not change booster... bled brakes, started engine and brake petal goes to floor on its own ? the booster has a vacuum intake w/2 ports on it, one the vac line goes to and the other is open and pulls vac making...

Do any of u old timers recall how we got rid of engine noise in the radio on the old 6 volt system, I recall we installed a couple condensers but don't recall where and what kind...kinda dealin with old age myself !!!!!:rolleyes:

I just purchased a '41 Ford barn find that has a "8MC" merc motor in it that has been it for years...when I get in to start it she rolls over very slowly and finally starts. The 6 volt batt is putting out 6.5 volts, lights burn bright, what can I do to get this engine to roll over and start like...

Does anyone know how to install the stock rocker mldg clips on the shoebox ??? Mine are orig. and I can't figure 'em out daaah !!! and does the molding snap on to them once they on ?

I just spent the last 2 days trying to get my '49 8ba in my F-1 to run cooler, I tried everything u folks said to do .... I treated w/evaporust and it came out nice and clean, I installed new 160* stats, I replaced the fan w/ the stock 4 blade truck fan, the belts r to spec 1/2'' deflection...

Does the fan used in the trucks [ wide ] move more air then the one used in cars [thin & pointed]? my '49 F-1 239 has the latter, should I change as I overheat :confused::confused:

I took my '49 F-1 239 out for its 1st road run yesterday and the temp gauge went all the way up to H... got home & put temp gauge on rad. & got 194 degrees and got 214 degrees 0n heads, water pumps , temp senders .. I have no t-stats...what is my problem??:confused:

I just got my '49 F-1 on the road & after going to 15'' wheels my speedo is off a lot thus in order to keep up with traffic I have to run high RPM's ..... My rear end ratio is 3.92, has anyone changed ratios in order to CRUSE @ a lower RPM thus not beating my 239 to death???

Anyone have a photo showing how to install the 3 piece cover that goes 'round the steering column @ the floor ?:confused:

I want to install rocker panel moldings on my "51 Custom coupe , I want to find a set of orignals & clips as the repros & clips are a disaster...does anyone know of a pair ? Also I have a pair of the lower frt.fender ss stone guards,do the rocker mldg. match up to the guards when installed ...

I am stripping my '51 coupe for a new paint job, my question is how can I take the W/S & back lite out & save the gaskets and is there a trick to getting them out ,Also when I replace them do I install the chrome mldgs in w/s b 4 installing them ?? Thanx,Fred

Is there an easy way to install the trim into the w/s rubber gasket on my "49 F-1 ???

I need to find the 3 bumpers that go in the back of the bed between the cab and bed so they don't rub, this is for my '49 F-1 pick up...the hole size is 1/2". does anyone have a vendor for these or what do other re-builders use ?

Jus installed new gas tank & gauge and 3+ - gallons gas and have no movement on gauge , how does one test the gauge ? this is a '49 F-1 6volt sys.
