Rear frame horn cover and more !!!!!

Driving my 32 Cabriolet today. Lovely sunny day. What's so special about this photo? Ok it's a right hand drive car and has a dickie seat (rumble in the USA).....attached to the rear bumper is a bracket with a rubber pad on allowing one to mount the dickie seat. Furthermore I am informed that I...

    Somewhat pumped up !

In anticipation of two weeks of abject boredom I decided to restore an old stirrup pump. Yes,I know it's not on par for my 32 Ford but it looks pretty. The brass thumb screw locks the piston assy in place when not in use. I am NOT taking orders for any so please don't ask !

    Amost off topic

A man is down on his luck....he's out of work...his wife has left him and his kids live 12,000 miles away in Australia. He has few friends. One day whilst walking down the pavement looking for dog-ends he comes across a tin can and gives it a good kick. Out of the can comes a genie and...

Gap between rotor arm tip and distributor cap contacts

What effect does the gap between the rotor arm and the distributor cap have on the performance of the car ? Is there an ideal setting? Does the size of the gap affect either ignition timing or starting from hot or cold? Many thanks.

    Model B spark plug change

Having gone through the usual petrol/spark issues on my 32 Model B and thinking that I have solved the ignition problem I have decided to experiment with the spark plugs. Have installed the best of three carburettors whereby the air screw actually responds to adjustment but being unhappy with...

32 Model B spark then no spark ?

Having difficulty starting my 32 Model B 4 cylinder. Removed distributor car and flicked the points...a very weak and barely visible spark. Had a spare coil so replaced it. Not much difference. Replaced contact breakers and condenser....no improvement. Removed HT lead from spark plug to...

    Model B carburettor problem

Having stripped and clean the Zenith carburettor on my carburettor on my 1932 Model b, it ran fine but after a few miles once more developed another misfire and back fire through the exhaust. Removal of the carburettor established that the throttle butterfly and visible jets were becoming...

    Disaster averted !

Well here it is and mighty pleased I am with the result. In fact emblem No 2 is aesthetically superior to the orphan that now languishes on a country road. Let's see if the JB holds up this time around. Want to know what the emblem is? I was going to vandalise a key ring and use the metal Ford...

    Then disaster struck !

Having sacrificed Sunday lunch in my eagerness to cure the Model B of a nasty backfire through the exhaust I decided to take the car for a spin. The car went like a finely tuned Model 18. Arriving home I decided to write to FoMoCo and tell them how good this motorcar is and in Clyde Barrow style...

    Model B backfire

Last year the car was running sweet as a nut. First time start this year. On a light throttle car runs well but as soon as throttle is depressed there is a backfire through the exhaust. Idles sweetly; points, plugs and condenser appear OK. Adjusting GAV valve has no effect on the problem...

Exhaust tip. Another moment of lunacy!

Between running a garage and looking after 130 acres, occasionally sleeping and eating to stay alive, I decided to make an exhaust tip for my 32 Cabriolet.
