    1936 Sedan Muffler

Got my new muffler the other day from Waldrons, and installed today and it fit like a glove and boy is the car quiet and runs better than with the straight through glass pack. No more back firing between shifts either. Waldrons makes a quality product at a reasonable price.

    Running Hot When Not Moving

My ford runs at about 190 - 200 degrees on these hot days as long as I'm moving. I'm running 180 degree thermostats (Subaru) with a little bypass leakage. When I stop at a light for more that a minute once up to temp she quickly red lines, has not boiled over but I'm sure it would if I sat too...

Changed The Weight Of My Oil

So after reading about the controversial subject "what weight of oil to use" I decided to do my own experiment. Seems its a toss up between 10W-30 and 20W-50. Not sure the consensuses on full synthetic. When I bought my car a few months ago I changed the oil, used the same as the previous...

Charging System Will Not Work Under A Load

I typically only take short rides around town 10-15 miles. I have not been putting the battery tender on after every trip. As this car is new to me I'm trying to figure out it quirks. I starts instantly when cold but a little harder when hot. The other day I was afraid it would not start as the...

Rear shocks on a 1936 fordor

Hey guys, I wanted to replace the shock links on the rear of my 36 because they where shot and thought it would quiet down some of the noises in the rear of the car. Well it seems the shocks do nothing other than squeak when I push the arm up and down, no resistance. Other than replacing the...

    Brake Floaters For 1936

Seems from what I can see flathead Ted does not have a brake floater kit for 1935 & 1936. Macs has one but it looks like it only floats the top half of the brake shoe. I have not opened mine up yet but trying to study up to see how to plan my brake update adventure.

What kind of jack do you carry

Okay, trying to pull together a few items to keep in the trunk, right now its empty. First thing I was wondering is what kind of jack should I purchase in case of a flat. Looks like its going to need a pretty long throw.
