    Flathead pencil test

I have a 24 stud flathead up to 48. It is not a 49 to 53 engine. Mine passes the so called pencil test and will hold a pencil in the area above the timing gear cover. So please tell me what means. I'm starting to be a little forgetful. Thank you very much. Jay

Flatheads breaking off engine stands and falling.

I'm just wondering if someone has some pictures of flatheads where the bellhousing area broke off while they were bolted to an engine stand. Some say that it is OK to do it to the 49 - 53 engines. Just need to show someone the pics because they think that it is an old wives tale. (I don't)...

    The storms and floods

Last night I saw a quick news flash of a two tone 56 Ford that had water all around it. It looked like it got jacked up onto stands before the water came in. They only showed it for about two seconds. Hopefully it did not get damaged and that it does not belong to one of our Fordbarn family...

I know that this question has come up before, but I can't find it so here it is again. When bolting 1935 spoke wheels onto early 1940- 1948 Ford hydraulic brake drums, it seems that a spacer ring has to be placed on the brake drum studs. Is that ring placed on the outer edge of the studs or...
