    Paint spots on gas tank

I had to restore another gas tank for our 29 A. I used the same laquer that I painted the car with 30 years ago but put clear on top. I put 3 coats of clear on at one time. I thought they were heavy enough. My problem is now that I have started wet sanding with 1200 grit paper I have some light...

    1929 Cowl Lacing

It seems strange to me that the original cowl lacing on the 28-29 A was held down with a wire on the top side. Steering Column Support Bracket Clamp

Can someone tell me the proper color for the steering column support clamp bracket on a 29? In the past I have always painted them the same color as the gas tank. I ordered a new repro & it came with a black finish. I'm thinking I should remove the black & paint it the same as the gas tank. Thanks.

What have you used to seal the seam where the gas tank sits on the cowl in order to keep water out?

29 Gas Tank Leak at Column Bracket

I am wondering what others have used to weld around the steering column support bracket & rivets on a 29 gas tank to stop the leaks. I'm not looking for sloshing compound. I'm wondering about mig welding, brazing, lead-something that will hold up to the stress of grabbing the steering wheel...
