My spark advance lever has always been rather stiff to operate but now it hardly will move at all. Has anyone had this problem and does the steering column need to come out to fix it?

In reinstalling my shift tower I noticed there was a paper gasket on the vertical surface with the recesses for the shift rail shafts.(see photo) A gasket for that area wasn’t provided with the kit from Mitchell and I don’t see that one is available from Bert’s. Is a gasket needed there?

When I turn the fuel adjustment knob (inside the car) counter clockwise or clockwise it just keeps turning without coming to a stop. I wanted to turn it all the way to left (counter clockwise) then open it about 1/4 to 3/4 to the position it runs best. Is something stripped?

I have a whistling sound when the clutch is not engaged, I think it might be the throwout bearing but it's only 1000 miles since it was installed in a long block rebuild. The sound is fairly high pitched and sounds like a whistle. Any thoughts on what this is?

My horn quit working after I did the 1,000 mile service. I put a couple of drops of oil on the felt pads and "jiggled" the bale on the switch at the bottom of the steering column to make sure it was securely engaged. The horn is 6 months old so didn't think the problem was with the horn itself...
