    Another Take on Pick-up Storage

On my 1930 CCPU, the seat is VERY hard to remove, so I decided to try another approach to Tool, fluid, spares, etc. storage. Left Milk Can contains: -4 innertubes -1.5 gallons oil -1.5 gallons 50/50 mixed coolant -funnel -2 safety flares -Rags, gloves, plastic trash bags (to cover luggage if it...

Generator parts and tools (slightly off topic)

I have a friend who grew up working in his father's auto electric repair shop. He wants to get back into it as a hobby, but can't find a source for all the various small parts and specialized tools he would need. Does anyone know a source for these kinds of tools and parts? Thanks, John

    Splash Pans?

Just got a new pair of engine splash pans from Bert's. Any hints on installation, fit, etc. before I crawl under the "Miss Frances" would be appreciated. John

1930 CCPU "small tail light" solution

Recently bought a "slow moving vehicle" triangle at the local tractor store. Then, using clear tubing, s/s fasteners, and 1/2"X1/8" aluminum bar stock, fabricated a rattle-proof, slip on rear reflector That does not damage the tailgate paint and makes the "Miss Frances" much more visible at...

    Reasonable top speed?

On my 1930 ccpu 35 mph to 40 mph feels good. Haven't tried to push it beyond that, as very poor hearing would not let me catch warning sounds! I know that my 31 coupe (in 1960) would cruise all day at 55 mph. Does the pickup have a lower gear ratiothat would cause slower top speeds? Or, should I...

    Tire Pressure

What tire pressure would you guys suggest for my 1930 CCPU? Operating above 5000 feet here in Montana, a few days in the 90's, but usually 70's and 80's for summer highs. Thanks, John

    "Pop goes the fuse-el"

Just changed headlight bulbs in my "new to me" 30 Closed Cab Pickup. Had one bad bulb, so decided to change both. Used 50-32 candlepower 6 volt bulbs from Bert's. Now, whenever I turn on the lights, the 15 amp fuse pops. Am I drawing too much power for a 15 amp fuse? What aperage fuse do most...

    Look What Santa Brought!

T’was a few weeks before Christmas, in Autumn’s last gasps, And Frances and I were inside the house. Then out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, That I knew right away, “Something’s the matter!” We ran out the house, and there on the drive, was a little short man, And a truck that went...

    Early or late 1930 pickup?

My new to me closed cab pickup was sold as a 1930. Motor # 2435582 places it as mid October 29 for motor. I have no idea what's on the frame. I need to replace the rear window, and there is a part number difference starting in mid 30. Question is: "Are there other ways to identify when truck was...
