I removed the fan belt and the random "ching" noise that was more pronounced at low idle was completely gone. So I figure somewhere in the water pumps or generator bearings, fan blade. With the belt removed (and engine off ) I tried to wobble the bearings by hand but they seem the same and...

So, I pulled the rear drums off to get at the leaky wheel cylinder(s) and found a few differences. I like the one on the left better. Is this a later design or from another model vehicle?

I've removed the four bolts at the flange to body connection. I then loosened the screw at each side of the axle thinking the axle would slide horizontally to one side or the other in order to release the back/lid assembly from the body bracket. Am I close or clueless? My goal is to get better...

I disconnected the fuel line at the tank and noticed that the line did not feed into the tank. It stops right at the nut. This might explain why I need so much gas in the tank to run the engine? Shouldn't the fuel line reach closer to the bottom of the tank? I'm looking to see what is correct...
