Went from the Club Coach to the Club Briquette

Last Tuesday a fire broke out in the storage unit. Started in anther unit. Our son's 30 Tudor was involved along with my swap meet stuff and a lot of A tool kit tools. Most are salvageable but need a lot of cleaning. The car is restorable but need everything. Tires are still OK and the gas tank...

    Wall hangings

A couple of wall hangings I have collected over the years. One is a numbered print (the Tudor in the snow) and the other is an original painting on canvas.

    Carburetor Options

After putting the following Simmons stuff on my A400, I decided it was time to finish the other manifold and carburetors I've had for 20 years. Now to decided which car deserves it. :)

    Auction purchase

Went to an estate auction on Saturday. Lot of A, B but mainly early flathead stuff. 33 5 window coupe brought 27,500 but the B engine that went with it is now in my garage. New owner said he was going to rod the car and didn't want the engine. Problem is I built the engine 8 years ago for the...

    A pan on a B engine

Just came up with a B engine. I rebuilt it about 5 years ago and ended buying it from the estate auction. Now the question: Is it possible to use smaller nuts (5/8 rather than 21/32 or 11/16) on the rods to clear the sides of an A pan. The relief on the B pan isn't much. I have been measuring...

    Rear Motor Mount Safety Wire

Pictures of original safety wire. It is from a rusty '30 Tudor that the odometer showed 30,000 miles.

    5Z tool collectors

I have a few that I use and found this one (1901) along with a lot of 3Z tools. Those will go to my son since he has the T. I believe the 1901 must be pretty rare. Never have seen one before. Also shown is a 1845 which is very handy. The 1901 is described at the back of the '31 Parts Price List...

    My take on KRW A371

Finally poured some babbitt to make a tool to hold the camshaft when putting on the timing gear. Not too clean but is very functional. Pictures attached.

    Patina rules

Put a modern tool box on the back of my TS and it just didn't look right. Found this nice metal box. It fits a lot better.

    Why did I buy this?

I was looking thru my stuff yesterday and found an almost new 3/8X32 tap and die. I cannot remember why I bought it but it must be something for an A. Now consider I had viral meningitis last February and was out for a few days. Brain must have forgotten a few things but not all. Just why did I...

    When was this tool made?

I have used this and it works great. Not sure of the history.

    What is this all about?

Finding weird things in engines always amazes me. Not sure what this is all about but it was a fix for a problem of some sort. Wonder if it worked.

    Spare Tire Lock

I have an A-18305-D Spare tire lock. It is missing the lock cylinder. When looking at the 31 Parts List, it appears that the lock cylinder was not included when new but sold separately (probably to fit the ignition key at the dealer). Can't find it listed in the Parts List. Is that lock...

    Muffler

Has anyone ever had a baffle come loose in an Aries muffler? Happened this morning. Sure makes a rinky-tink sound.:)

    Georgia Dumper

Attached are some pictures of the dump truck my Brother-in-law just finished in LaGrange Georgia. Thought I would show the drivers door and how the side mount worked. We think it was originally used as a coal delivery truck.

    This will test your T

Normally I post on the A site but you guys need to see this. My son driving his Grandfather's 16 T going up a 4X4 car game ramp. Perfect score for the 4X4's was 1000, he scored 1040. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXhvwkFIv0o&feature=youtu.be

Not A but T for fun

Thought you guys might enjoy seeing my son driving his Grandfather's '16 T up a ramp used in a 4X4 car game. Point was to drive up until the right front wheel came off the ground. Perfect score was 1000, he got 1040. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXhvwkFIv0o&feature=youtu.be

The things you find inside an engine

I guess someone thought it was easier to cut a wrench off than install a cotter. Not sure what the extra hole in the center main, never seen that one before. Guess you don't need an oil well or oil grooves to the end.

    Unwanted link

I noticed that in my biography that something was underlined. Clicked on it and it went to a car type website. Revised the biography and removed the link but curious where it came from. Forgot to write down what it was but it was something like Viglink. Where did it come from? Has anyone else...
