Is there any reason a sub frame should be riveted, other than for originality? I’m putting a new one together and would think welding is easier and stronger...with that said, I’ve learned a lot of things are a specific way for a reason. Anyone else just weld it up an go?

I'm assembling a 28 roadster. How do the quarters mount to the subframe at the door openings? Are there braces there? I'm not sure if I'm missing anything or what stiffens the quarter at that point.

My engine had the accelerator linkage removed and it looks like the bolt holes have tons of crap in them...... Probably happened over time. I need to find new bolts and also chase the threads in the block but I don't know the size. Anyone familiar with these?
