12v Zero RPM Alternator

Greetings fellow Barn members. I am in need of finding/locating a new 12v Zero RPM alternator. My car has been converted to 12v Negative ground. And I am also looking for one that appears to be a generator but in fact is an alternator. I currently have a 12v Alternator that has the plug on the side and I would like to eliminate that as well as the look. Also, with the new alternator, do I need to install that ballast resistor again.

Thanks!

Dave

I have a Power-GEN alternator. Been running it for 9 years now, no issues.
As far as the ballast resistor, you will need that only if you are still running the 6v coil.

I also have a Power-GEN alternator and I'm very happy with it. I believe I bought it from Jeg's or Summit Racing simply because they offered free shipping.

If ya went to all the work of switching to 12v., may as well install a 12v 3ohm coil. Do away with the resistor. I also have switched to twelve volt negative ground for all my systems.
