Well, it's been almost 2 years to the day that Brenda & I had a accident coming home from a show in Cherokee, North Carolina and the show was excellent, the drive home was... No fun, a lot of road construction due to all the damage from the tropical storm Helene, Mike made a quick stop,so did I but not quick enough and I hit his truck from behind, I can assure you guys I was sick as was Brenda, Mike nd his wife were gracious but I could tell the were not happy, again gracious.
Very long story short the checks came, we had Mike's repairs done withing a month, you guys know how hard it is to source parts, several of you guys helped me with parts, finding a repair shop was a nightmare I talked to six shops and during this time I ended up in the hospital twice.
A couple of months ago my pal Dave Doolin retired, some may remember he helped me build the wagon and he told me while I was recouping he would do the work, nthen Mike Walker, yes the guy I ran into offered to help Dave.
Dave took the NOS (Nasty old splash-apron) and one of the parts that need to be painted body color and painted them a few weeks before assembly..
Then a week after that Mike and Dave showed up bright and early one Saturday and flogged that car all day long and returned the following Sunday morning and worked until 10 PM. came in and said the car is done and it was, I had one shop tell me it would take 3 months if he put his whole crew on the car, I think he's nutz.
