40 Ford 1/2 ton pick up trans removal.

My truck is in serious need of a clutch replacement and a ****** rebuild. I've read up on a couple of options one: remove engine and two: Roll rearend assembly back. I'm leaning towards option one but I've heard it through a rumor mill that the trans can be removed through the floor. Any...

    Steering column question

I hope we're talking about the same bolt. This is the one used to clamp the unit to the steering column itself. I don't see anything behind the dash. The unit is secured to underside lip of the dash by two nuts and bolts which are easy to get at.

    Steering column question

I need to remove the bolt that clamps the steering column on my 1940 PU. It's the one that secures the column hanger/ ignition switch/ steering shaft lock. I've read where an easy out was used. suggestions please. Thanks

Vega box in a 40 Pickup.

Not from Speedway. Been dealing with a shop down in Tennessee, seem to be nice honest people and easy to work with. The 525 was discussed and we thought it to be the best choice but one wasn't available from his vendor. He seems to be ok with going with the Vega box and sent me the kit but...

Vega box in a 40 Pickup.

OK, so being a newbie here I'm still learning the ropes. My first thread pretty much was looking for advice and opinions..I got both and decided to go with the Vega box based on member feedback, thanks . I pretty much knew the pitman arm would face forward, just wanted to be certain. Thanks...

Hi all, I have two questions on this 1. Does the pitman arm face forwards and 2. what is the "blind spot"?
