Try Coker tires, their bias ply looking radials will change your ride drastically

Your memory is working well. They are silver with black indicatetors . I'm in Myrtle beach South Carolina getting ready for a hurricane that apparently isn't coming here now. When I get home I'll pull the gauge and look closer for signs of it being replaced but I don't expect to find that. Thanks

Thanks for the input. The gauges all match in style and appear to be the same age so I don't think I want to change the temp gauge. It makes sense now why changing the wires on the gauge didn't make a difference. Does anyone know where I can get a sending unit that would work opposite to the...

The gauges all match in Color and design. The speedo is stamped on the back with 1951 but I guess it's possible the temp gauge has been changed.

I have a 51 pickup and just changed from bias ply to radials. There's no noticeable difference in the effort to turn at slow speeds but the difference in the ride and handling amazing.

I had trouble with my carb on a 51 pickup. I tweaked it , rebuilt it twice after soaking it in different cleaners and blowing through compressed air. Finally I bought a new carb and it ran great. Best $300 I've spent. Good luck
