Can the carb drain plug be removed w/o draining the gas tank? I want to try to fix the leak at the plug with a minimum loss of gas. I can live with the loss after i have closed the gas valve but i don't want a mess on my hands.
The ammeter moves erraticly from + to -, sometimes pauses briefly around 0 then right back to dancing left and right. Accelerating doesn't seem to make much difference. I have moved the third brush and that didn't help either. Any and all ideas are welcome.
I could use some help solving a puzzle. (a puzzle for me at least!) with the engine running i'm showing a slight discharge that doesn't change even with a higher rpm-- the problem just appeared and i'm not sure where to start. Suggestions ?
How do i free-up the gas valve on a late '31 model a with an indented fire wall without draining the tank? It is very hard to turn and seems to be getting getting worse! Lube doesn't seem to help.
