I’ve had great luck with a PerTronix 40111 Flame-Thrower 40,000 Volt 1.5 ohm Coil. They are epoxy filled and can be mounted upside down. Noticeably quicker starts. I bought mine on Amazon.

This was a fun project. I was surprised how much attention it receives.

Just went through the same thing. My right rear drum was barely rubbing on the backing plate during left turns. The rubbing left slight witness marks on the backing plate. I added an axle shim and gained enough space to cure the problem. Hopefully yours will be an easy fix solution.

On my recent rebuild I went with a 6.5 Burtz head and a Burtz cam. I am more than happy with the results. The car runs fine on 87 octane but it seems to prefer 89 octane. That may be due to the gas mixture in my area.

Several methods to accomplish the install. I find installing the engine with the transmission attached easier. With the aid of a frame spreader, aligning the transmission and the U-joint goes pretty smooth. It’s also a great time to call in a favor or two and have a couple friends to help.

When I built a canopy for my CCPU I used black indoor/outdoor carpet I bought by the foot at Home Depot. I installed it carpet side down followed by long grain top material. Turned out very great. Nice and flat and smooth.
