    Question about light switch

My brother-in-law installed new light switch on his 29 Tudor. After moving the switch located on the steering wheel a few times it would lock up. After multiple times of disassembling and reassembling, one of his helpers slightly lifted up on the "lever" and the switch worked beautifully, with...

Tail light bracket & Spare tire bracket

Is there any kind of gasket or cushion between the brackets and the car. After doing a beautiful paint job it just doesn’t seem right to bolt the brackets to the body/fender without a cushion between. Since I don’t see them advertised I assume the answer is no but it’s better to ask. Thanks!

    Fan Blade Concern

The 29 Tudor my Brother in Law is rebuilding has a fan blade on it that I have not seen before. It runs smoothly but is not one piece. The two blades are fastened to the central hub but no welds are readily evident. You can see the line in the photo where the blade is attached to the hub. It...

    Cleaning a Horn Commutator question

I did reluctantly try a dental pick. It barely made a scratch. That is when I decided it wasn't dirt, grime or whatever, it was the phenolic resin. I'm beginning to think that if there is a depression between the copper contact bars, clean it out. If the phenolic resin height is equal to the...

    Cleaning a Horn Commutator question

Most threads mention cleaning the space between copper contact bars with a toothpick. Seems simple enough, however when I tried it, there is not a depressed groove between the copper contact bars. The phenolic resin comes up even to the top of the bars leaving no room for anything to accumulate...

29 Tudor quarter panel window seal question

On the back roll up windows, is there a seal between the glass and the body? If so does anyone know the part number? Thanking you in advance.

    Upholstery Question

My brother-in-law is close to completing the body work on his 29 Tudor and is asking for advice on upholstery. While there are upholstery shops in town none are totally familiar with Model A's but will do it. His question is this; Is he better off to order a complete kit from Cartouche or...

2nd appeal for modern Rubelite Red Paint code

We went to the local paint jobber and gave him the paint code CG 596 1FG. We told him it was a Nason paint code. He came up with nothing. He even contacted the regional office and they said the number doesn't show up in any of their computers or books. Am I missing something? Is there another...

2nd appeal for modern Rubelite Red Paint code

While my previous request for Rubelite Red paint code got a lot of responses (for which I am appreciative), I never got an actual code. The local paint shops were not able to use Dupont code - RS536 to come up with anything in modern base coat color. If anyone has a modern code I would...

    Rubelite Red

Thanks for sharing all the photo everyone. I think that Rubelite Red makes for classy car. Maybe it's because it reminds me of the Cordovan Saddle Loafers that were popular when I was in high school back in the late 60's.

    Rubelite Red

I checked out TCP Global and Rubelite Red is not mentioned in the 1930 cars. I don't know where you saw it. My understanding is that it was a 1931 commercial color. The Paint and Finish Guide looks like a great resource for the individual restoring a car for points but the price is too high...

That is a little too red. Rubelite Red is a little more on the burgundy side.
